Old and New Happenings

So it's been a while, I've been out of family blogging. Here's the last 2 months.

Our good friend is a Chandler fire fighter and was nice enough to give us a tour of his station. Since then, Tucker has decided along with being an astronaut he is going to be a fireman.

We went with our good, little friends to the Phoenix Children's Museum. We love that place!

We "hiked" the San Tan Mountains with some of our favorite friends, Ainsley and Emerson. We like to think their angel sisters, Eden and Jersey, were flying right beside us!

Chris got 5 stitches playing church basketball. We still haven't seen those cookies like Josh promised.

I added just a touch of pink to my hair, I rather like it! I have a free ticket to do just about anything so I used it!

Baking buddies. I'm not sure what we were making but hopefully it was something sweet, just like us!

Tucker couldn't have just any birthday cake, it had to be pumpkin squares. Just because he had Batman last year doesn't mean he couldn't have him this year.

Tuck's favorite gift was "army dudes" and "army things".

Horsey riding.

Tatum and I went on a girl's date. What better to do than get a pedicure and a manicure. She didn't like the smell of the polish remover so she very lady like plugged her nose. Ta-DA, her finished tootsies. Aren't they lovely!

We went to the zoo with Nurse Nicole and little Addie. They''re really excited, especially Tatum.

Hey Partner!

For babysitting group we thought it would fun to heart attack our neighbors. After assembling a zillion hearts we snuck across the street and filled their lawn with love.

When finished we rang the doorbell, raced across the street, and then spied. The kids loved hearing the excited shrieks but what they loved most was being sneaky. Shhhh, don't tell the Marx!

The biggest, most exciting thing we did was DISNEYLAND!!

We are in the car just about to Disneyland, this is them being super excited!

Isn't this picture a must? I think it's the cardinal rule to have your picture taken here. We can feel the magic, 3 full days of Disney bliss ahead of us!

The actual castle of Cinderella!

Yes Tatum, Cinderella actually lives here, for real! She was thrilled to be witnessing the home of a beloved princess. Tatum is all about the princesses.

Tatum wasn't feeling the spirit of the Disneyland lines. Little did she know what lie ahead. Peter Pan was our very first ride. Tuck and Chris anxiously await lift off.

Day 1 was a complete success! They were hooked! The had "so much stinken fun" they were out before we got to the tram. They went straight to bed without any dinner or complaints.

We absolutely could not go to Disneyland and NOT get a churro, or 8!

A favorite ride was Autopia. They felt so hip driving their own car and being proud owners of a "real" driver's license.

Aren't we all cute!

Sadly we did NOT see one single princess. Poor Tatum was so disappointed. So instead of a princess she settled for Mary Poppins and Burt.

It was Chris's job to take them on all the twirly rides. It's simply not worth the head ache.

This was the last day. We were all tired, grouchy, and sick of the camera!

Splash Mountain was the #1 ride for T&T. We must have ridden it more than a dozen times. If you sit in the very back you don't get wet which means you don't mess up your hair. Tatum was furious when she got soaked, we went home early that night. Tucker on the other hand thought it was "totally awesome".

Ahhhh. Waiting for A Bug's Life, which the cupcakes hated by the way.
Funny story and this has nothing to do with the pictures below. Tucker and I were in a very crowded, noisy women's bathroom. I finished and was waiting for Tuck. Above the noise I hear, "Mooooooooooooom, cooooooooome and wiiiiiiiiiiiipe mmmmmme!" Seriously, wipe your own buns and be quick about it, but no, he insisted I do it. I wasn't about to crawl on that nasty bathroom floor and begged him to do his own dirty work. Luckily there was a worker lady who stuck her broom stick up and over the stall and opened his door. She's my new hero!

Anybody who knows Tatum knows that she adores Tink. She has stayed faithful to her since she was 2 so you can imagine how absolutely thrilled she was to meet her in the flesh.

Tatum worked very hard on this beautiful picture to give to Tink and yes, Tinkerbell LOVED it!

Well, fun was had by all! The favorite rides were: Splash Mountain, the Mader Horn, and Thunder Mountain Rail Road. Tatum loved the Tower of Terror while Tucker screamed and cried the whole time. They absolutely hated the Haunted House and A Bug's Life. I hope they felt the magic and wonder of Disneyland becuase even as an adult I know I did.

Jumping on the tramp with water in February.

I was lucky enough to go on a get away to Utah and Chris and the cupcakes were left at home to spend some 1 on 2 time together. Chris stole this box from our neighbor's trash and let them watch a movie while eating popcorn in it. Whatever makes them happy, right?

Hot dog! That looked like some serious fun! We've never as yet made it to Disneyland, but it is definitely on the top of our to-do list! I'm glad you guys had fun! Can I tell you that I am totally with Tatum. Tinkerbell is the cutest thing ever! I fully intend to own the movie (and maybe not all just for Katie). We can't wait to have a burrito party at your house on Monday! I am planning on getting Taco Bell sauce on the way over. It's gonna be great!!!!

What a bust few weeks. Disneyland looked great, and what a fun 3 days. Umm the cookies- had I known, they would have been there much sooner. Josh makes them the best, but I have the time the best, I think. It sounds like a Sunday afternoon project to me. Expect some visitors tomorrow. See you soon.

Funny we just went to D land for the first time last month. I ate 5 churros myself on day one. Splash Mountain was the best. Hate the tea cups I will puke the rest of the day! This morning we took our kids and hiked San Tan Mt! That's funny you were just there too! I love your pink hair, I also love your hairstyle.....I really need to get a real one! Oh, and church ball is way to crazy these days. My brother just tore the ligaments in his foot and had to get surgery and is down for two months all because of his crazy game of church ball! Glad to see you guys have had some good times.....I Am praying for you to have a million more!

so a couple things...
a. I can't believe they both rode the TOWER OF TERROR! I wouldn't even dare try it! Brave blondies!
b. I was so bummed we missed Bug's Life and quite a few of the CA Adventure rides, so the fact that they hated it made me feel better.
c. My boys favorite was Autotopia too. LAME-o! go carts on a track, pu-lease!
d. I'm so happy you guys got a fun getaway, heavens knows you all deserve it.

These photos are so cute! The kids were right to hate A Bugs Life- its scary for that age group- Jacob screamed at it too. It is so good to see you have joy in your lives. God knows- literally- you deserve it. I love the hair color!!!

Love the pic of the kids in the box. Also the one of Chris eating two churros, ha ha. So great to have some good times together at DL! That's a great idea...to heart attack as a babysitting group activity...fun for the kids and takes up a ton of time!

Wow, you all have been busy! I'm so glad Tater got to meet Tink, I hope she never out grows her.

Not sure how I feel about the pink hair, but it's better than a yellow streak or the midnight blue that turned neon blue Missy sported for 5 weeks.

I have never taken my poor kids to Disneyland. Missy went about a year ago and decided for the money it was overrated.

I'm glad you all got away for a much deserved fun time, it's looks like it was a great success!

What a fun trip! I know that Jersey girl is smiling down on her cute family. I loved the picture for Tink! What a sweet girl! The writing in the sand is beautiful! We had Lilly's and Ryker's done, and one of these days I will post the picture. It is definitely something we treasure. SOunds like you guys are doing well, but know you are in our thoughts and prayers still!
Heart hugs,
Emily

I am so glad you got to go on that trip. However three days sounds torcherous. Don't get me wrong I love Disneyland. Thank you for jersey's cd. Ethan loves it and I cry to it constantly. You will get passed this hazey time. All the worry, emotion, drama. . . It zaps you. Give it a year. Take time to heal. Thank you for being such a wonderful support. You are an angel too. Just doing your work on earth while Jersey does hers in heaven.

Heidi & Chris-
Thinking much of you today.

This verse of "I am a child of God" was written for parents who have experienced heartache in the way that you have.

I hope it brings you peace today!

Lots of Love! Hugs!

I am a child of God and he has called me home.
My earthly journeys through but still, I do not walk alone.
He leads me, guides me, walks beside me, helps me find the way.
He welcomed me with open arms, I live with him today.

I am a child of God and I have gone ahead.
My earthly life was brief but oh, such peace and love you gave.
You loved me, held me, stood beside me, and though I cannot stay.
You gave me much to help me and I live with him today.

I am a child of God and I will wait for you.
Celestial glory shall be ours, if we can but endure.
I'll lead you, guide you, walk beside you,
Help you find the way.
I'll welcome you with open arms
One bright Celestial day.

Andersons,

I stumbled upon your blog through Jessie Pease. My husband Jared Baker worked with Chris at BrewerCaldwell. I am sorry to hear of your loss. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Also I am so jealous that you went to Disneyland. That is one our most favorite places to go. It looks like you had a blast.

Unfortunately, pink hair is much better than blue, and I don't know if I could get away looking like the cookie monster! :) Thanks for all the fun photos! They brought a smile to my face!
