Morning Surprise

There we were, me making blueberry pancakes and T & T eating them at the kitchen table. Tatum was pouting because she thought she liked blueberry pancakes but decided she didn't when there was a knock at the door. Who could it be at this hour? NONI! She surprised us, who knew she was coming, and with donuts and a present!

Not only did she bring donuts but a new slip and slide! They could hardly eat fast enough. Tucker was a natural, Tatum on the other hand was a little more stiff.

If the donuts and prize weren't enough she insisted I go run all my errands while she stayed and played. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I don't know what people do with out moms.

#3 Due to Arrive

So it's been official for quite some time and definitely no secret that baby #3 is on it's way! We are SO excited! Scheduled due date: December 24 2008. That's right, Christmas Eve. We like to call that poor planning; regardless, we can't wait! This pregnancy has been completely different than the last two. For one thing I've not been sick which is amazing and all new for me. I had one sick day and the rest, other than being exhausted, have been great. I'll take tired any day over nauseous! Secondly, and this may sound really ugly, I've never been excited to be expecting. With Tatum she was a complete surprise and it took me quite a while to even be okay with the idea. With Tucker I had just been pregnant 6 moths before. But with this baby I've wanted it for so long and it's been so long I'm thrilled. Third, it has been so fun to watch Tatum and Tucker be so excited at the thought of a new baby. Tatum tells me just about every day, "Mom, I already love our new baby!" She's already committed to helping with diaper changes and feedings! And then there's Tucker, when asked if he's going to kiss our new baby he says, "No, I want to punch it in the face." Nice. He does have his sweet moments when he won't go to bed without kissing the baby (my stomach) and giving the baby loves (rubbing my stomach). We can't wait!

About the unacceptable due date. I couldn't possibly let my sweet baby's birthday be overlooked every year because of Christmas, anything after the 12th simply won't due. The closer to Christmas the less of a birthday. So, I expressed my great concern to my Dr. and he, thankfully, is willing in induce me. It also helps that Tucker was a tank so it gives me just another reason to be induced. Dr. Huish thought the 10th sounded like a good date, of course the baby has to be healthy and ready, which works for me. I know this will sound pathetic but this date gives me stress. Only the biggest movie ever is coming out Dec. 12th, Twilight. What's a girl to do?!?!

We, rather I, decided we're not going to find out what it is. It took Chris a while but he's finally come around. It only adds to the excitement for us. I have to say that the grandmas are a little irritated with the idea of waiting. My mother insists on making 2 quilts instead of waiting. They're lucky to be the first we call! Besides, it doesn't matter anyways, we'll love it just the same, boy or girl!

Pickin' Corn

My Auntie Mel's gramps own some land in Queen Creek and plants corn for his family and their friends. We got a lucky invite this year to help ourselves to as much corn as we wanted to pick.

The corn was taller than me and super easy to loose the blondies in. My mom made the trek with us and helped pick, pick, pick!
Tatum and Tucker had so much fun running through the corn. Of course the fields were loaded with bugs so we scratched ourselves red and raw.
Tatum loved the baby corns but all the hair made her nervous!
Picking corn is hard, dirty, sweaty work, Tatum needed a water break.
This may not look like the mountain it really was. Our entire Yukon back was full of corn. We unloaded it in the back yard and shucked and shucked and shucked!

Tatum proved to be a great schucker while Tucker was more interested in eating. He finished 3 ears when I cut him off. I told him he'd have corn in his poopy the next day and was SO excited that he actually did!

Mission Beach Quick Trip

Here we are at Mission Beach in San Diego, CA. Of all the vacations we do or don't go on the beach has never and will never miss a year. It would be wrong to deprive the blondies of the salty, frigid ocean water and sandy beach. We were lucky enough to go with Noni and Papa (my parents) and Natalie and Callie (my sisters). Two entire days at the beach only teased our want to move there but we had a great time and made fun memories.
Look closely at this collage as it tells a story of a little girl who wanted her Gramps to take her boogie boarding.

Tatum was born to "beach it". She never tires of the sun and loves the sand beneath her toes. Chris was unable to come with us and Tatum said, "I want Daddy to drive here so we can move here." Last year she thought the beach house we stayed in was our new house and was heart broken when we had to leave.

When you ask Tucker what he wants to do when he grows up every time he says, "play baseball". Can't take a break from practicing even while on the beach.

Not surprisingly the kids LOVE the water and even though we can't feel our toes while in it they always have a marvelous time!
Has anybody ever seen a cutter body than this? We certainly haven't! Love the sandy bunz!

My sisters and I simply had to take a break from all the sun tanning and reading to check out the shops on the board walk.

Takin' a break from sand castle making for lunch.

Funny story. Tucker said he needed to go to the bathroom. Go in the ocean I tell him, thinking he'll go stand in the water and relieve himself. No no, apparently it means pull his boys out and then relieve himself. Well just as I'm running to him a wave comes which he runs from exposing himself to the entire beach, we laughed pretty hard. Guess I should explain a little more next time.
When sand castles are built the sand has to be we of course. So we have to make several trips to the ocean to "buy" water for our sand castles.
Can you believe this bathing beauty? He decided out of the entire coast line that the only spot for him to sunbathe his rear was right next to us. It was funny to watch the people around us laugh and point and take pictures without trying being to obvious.

Tucker LOVES "surfer dudes". Even though this dude isn't officially a real surfer he certainly qualifies in Tucker's book; he simply had to talk with him.

Tucker pulled this board all around the beach but when it came time to actually using it he wasn't interested.

Tucker being a cool kid on the beach.
Tatum's favorite thing this trip was to be buried.

Building sand castles with Gramps.

Digging a hole for Tatum to stick her bunz in and get buried.

Bubble blowing. It was fun to watch how far and high they went without popping. I'm sure the other people on the beach were irritated with all our bubble blowing but we loved it!

Tucker asked for these the entire trip so at a gas stop he finally got his treat. He crunched for an hour and ate the entire bag!

All in all a great, relaxing trip. We finished with smiles and can't wait to go back next year!
